Common questions from pet parents

Is the pump quiet?

The pump is built to run quietly. If it sounds louder than expected, check that the water fully covers the pump, tap the fountain gently to release trapped air, and make sure the pump is not touching the base.

What do I plug it into?

It runs on 5 V / 1 A USB, and the 1.3 m USB cable is included. A USB power adapter is not, so use a standard 5 V adapter or another compatible USB power source, such as a power bank. Keep the cable out of your cat's reach.

Where can I put it?

Indoors only, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Fill it up to the MAX line so the pump stays fully covered, and use water no hotter than 104°F (40°C).

How do I clean it, and how often?

Unplug it first. Change the water every 2 to 3 days (daily in hot weather or with several pets) and wash all parts weekly with warm, soapy water, including the filter basket and the foam sponge. Replace the sponge once it no longer rinses clean, and brush hair and debris off the pump every 2 to 4 weeks.

What if my cat ignores it at first?

Some cats need a day or two to get curious. Place it next to her usual bowl, let her watch the water flow, and keep the old bowl close for a few days.

What if no water comes out of the spout?

Unplug it first. Check that the water covers the pump up to the MAX line and that no hair or debris is blocking the pump or the sponge, and rinse them if needed. Then tap the fountain gently to release trapped air and plug it back in.
